The stated mate in 4 solution is quite good, but I found a more simpler mate in 4, namely Rc1 b4, Rch1 c3, Rh1h5+ gh5, Rh5 mate.

I was surprised there was a simpler solution to the same problem. Normally there is only one solution. Hope I didnt overlook something.

I haven't found the solution to this Giegold yet but I can tell you are wrong!
After your Rc1 b4, Rch1 c3, Rh1h5+ gh5, Rh5, this is not mate. since square g6 has been vacated for the king...
