I'm not an expert at chess problems by a long shot. But here's an anomaly--I'm not sure this is the right place to report it.

1070 is white to mate in 4.

me ChessProblems
---------------------------
f6 ........ Be6 (I once saw the computer play g6xf5)
Qg5 ..... Rb2 ?? (after a LOT of thought on the computer's part)
Qxg7# (mate in 3, not 4)

I think (though I'm not a great chess player) that 2... Rg8 would at least forced it to be a mate in 4, as would have g6.

I've enjoyed the problems (except for Tomas', because I can never solve them Sad ) and spent way too much time on them in the past week or two.

Mike

My dear mklora,
You must be misstaken, number 1070 is mate-in-2 from famous, young Tomas! Also your description of the solution does not fit to this problem.
Tomas composes crisp, clear thematic puzzles - not very difficult to solve in my opinion...
In this particular case after 1.Bg5 (so called Novotny theme), white threatens 2.Rxf5# and 2.Nf4# and however black takes on g5 or tries other defences he cannot defeat both threats.
